Happy Friday y’all.
Here are 10 things I found interesting from the last week or so.
1/ Teacher’s Away Day
To start this week’s newsletter, I’d like to share some pictures from Teachers’ Away Day. It was nice to celebrate with everyone and enjoy some time at the. beach away from work!

2/ 2cms Wine Bar
Last week I stopped by a really cool wine bar located inside an apartment in Binh Thanh. The wine was terrific, the music by the DJ for the night, Ross Lancaster, was perfect for the setting, and the view wasn’t that bad either. I hope to visit there more often! Follow them on Instagram for more details.
3/ Nike A.I.R.
Nike released a dozen prototype shoes in Paris last week. Are they real? No. But Nike is hinting at what is yet to come in the future. Check out Complex’s post on them below.
4/ A Modern Day Troubadour
One of my students shared she is learning to play the guitar so I asked what guitar players she likes to listen to. She said Estas Tonne, a Ukranian musician who describes himself as a “modern day troubadour.” I had never heard of him until now. Here’s one of his live sets in Zurich from 2022. Very relaxing and served as great writing music for writing this week’s newsletter.
5/ Dick’s Sporting Goods x Boston Marathon
After the Boston Marathon changed its qualifying time, more than 11,000 runners got cut. Dick’s Sporting Goods then stepped up and worked with the Boston Athletics Association to give three runners a second chance. Love this story. Read their Sideline Report here.
6/ There is No Escape
Zack Progrob on why the best artists can’t escape:
“The best artists can't escape from their art. They are their work. There's no separation. There's no balance. Every step is brushstroke. Every word is a note. Every experience is a perfect scene. Once this clicks, life becomes simple. Nothing should be forced. Nothing should be regretted. When one lives authentically, a way of life can be art in itself.”
7/ How We Escape It: An Essay
This week I read an essay by Mary Cappello on JSTOR called How We Escape It. Worth checking out!
8/ _joeychu
This week I came across an artist from Hong Kong who is based in San Francisco. Love their work. Here is the post that drew me to their page.
9/ Your Anxiety is Lying
“Your anxiety lies to you. It tells you the world is going to laugh at you when in reality no one gives a shit.” —Mark Manson’s newsletter, Your Next Breakthrough
10/ Reminder from Alan Watts
“A person who thinks all the time has nothing to think about except thoughts. So he loses touch with reality, and lives in a world of illusion.”
Thank you for reading. Enjoy your Friday and see you in a week.
