Air Head, The Opposite of Depression, The Secret to Collaboration, and More
Friday, March 29, 2024
Happy Friday y’all.
I hope you’ve had a good week.
Here are 10 things I found interesting from the last week or so.

1/ Who’s Next
To start this week's newsletter, I want to share my favorite sports page right now: Who's Next. Here's the latest video—watch until the end.
2/ Anaïs Nin on Courage
I’ve added a quote from her before here on escaping. This one is good, too:
“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage.”
3/ ‘air head’
A group of artists from Toronto called the shy kids created a short film using Sora, Open's AI text-to-video model. It's called 'air head.' It's wild, scary, and cool.
4/ Arenas Curb Appeal
This guy does curb paintings and does them very well. Check it out!
5/ Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s Secret to Collaboration and Creativity
When the duo began writing Good Will Hunting over two decades ago, Affleck told Damon something that ultimately decided the trajectory they would be on for the rest of their careers. He said,
“Judge me for how good my good ideas are, not how bad my bad ideas are.”
It's worth remembering whenever you're collaborating with someone, many times, it takes working through an embarrassing amount of bad ideas before you actually get to something good. Reserve judgment along the way, enjoy working through all of the bad ones and allow the best idea to shine through and win.
6/ Hilarious Price list of a Graphic Design Firm in Finland (@hidden.ny)
7/ A Perfect NBA Meme for the Joker
The Denver Nuggets have been on fire since the NBA All-Star break. A big reason is Nikola Jokić is nearly impossible to stop and this meme explains exactly why.
8/ Wisdom from The Wealthy Gardener
The Wealthy Gardener is a book I was gifted many years ago. It’s short, punchy chapters packed with great insights. Out of the dozens and dozens of chapters, there’s one I found myself returning to lately (Chapter 1: Use the Days, Lesson 2: Time) where the Wealthy Gardener says to his manager,
“Don’t you get it? There is never a certainty of future rewards,’ he said calmly, “but we go for it anyway, or we keep what we’ve got.”
9/ The Lab’s Dalat Cabin
The best thing I read on LinkedIn this week was a post by Tuan Le, the Co-Founder, CEO, and Creative Director at The Lab Saigon & The Lab Concepts. He shared that his company maintains a cabin in Dalat and uses it for creative retreats, a remote office, and also operates as a farm-to-cup cafe run by their fellow Creative Director based there. So cool!
10/ The Opposite of Depression
I came across a quote this week worth sharing. It’s from artist and entrepreneur Joseph Awuah-Darko, also known as Okuntakinte. He wrote:
“Dear Artist, Remember the opposite of depression is not joy — it’s expression. So create, create, create. For it is the soul’s medicine.”
Thank you for reading The Ca Phe Chronicle. I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead. I’ll be here next week. See you then!
